Conference: 2nd Crisis in Cosmology Conference, CCC-2 (Astronomical Society of the Pacific, San Francisco, ), pp. APS Conference Series, At San Francisco, Volume: Cite this. This was the second in a series that started in Portugal in The conference was titled Crisis in Cosmology 2: Challenges to Consensus Cosmology and the Quest for a New Picture of the Universe. It was also attended by a few dozen interested observers, and the local media.

In , we published an article on the 'Crisis in Cosmology' by Harry Nielsen, which provoked some comment from readers. In addition to the original article, we publish as appendixes a letter that defends the main theories dominant in contemporary physics. This is followed by a reply that points out that the latest observations should at least lead scientists to question the validity of the. The First "Crisis in Cosmology" Conference, Held in Moncao, Portugal, June 23 – 25, Hilton Ratcliffe. In May , a group of about 30 concerned scientists published an open letter to the global scientific community in New Scientist in which they protested the stranglehold of Big Bang theory on cosmological research and funding.

He was a member of the Conference Organising Committee for the Second International Crisis in Cosmology Conference held in Port Angeles, Washington, in , where he was also a keynote speaker. Hilton has been frequently interviewed in the press, on television and on radio, and has also authored a number of papers for scientific journals. Whilst these results do not support any cosmology individually, they do support one where the universe expanded in the past but that expansion has now been arrested and the universe is now static". Abstract: A Fourier analysis on galaxy number counts from redshift data of both the Sloan Digital Sky Survey and the 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey has been carried out.

The results indicate that galaxies have preferred periodic redshifts. adshelp[at] The ADS is operated by the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory under NASA Cooperative Agreement NNX16AC86A.

Edited by Frank Potter. San Francisco, Astronomical Society of the Pacific,p This paper gives a compilation of some of the mechanisms proposed at the 2 nd Crisis in Cosmology Conference (CCC-2) to explain intergalactic redshifts. Only the mechanisms which predict a direct relationship between distance and redshift are listed here for the purpose of quantitative comparisons.

For each mechanism, three equations are given: the angular diameter distance, the luminosity. SAO/NASA Astrophysics Data System (ADS) Title: Survey of Redshift Relationships for the Proposed Mechanisms at the 2^{nd} Crisis in Cosmology Conference Authors: Marmet, L.
